Panda Cookie Cutter Set Review

Hey! So I bought some Japanese panda cookie cutters on eBay and I thought I would try them out.

Here's what it looks like, and it comes with cutters for the panda's body, face and stomach, and facial features. Ain't it the cutest thing. There is also a recipe included that I used.

Panda Cookies

   Ingredients

60g butter
60g sugar
1/2 of an egg
80 g flour
75g flour
5g cocoa powder

    Instructions

1. Cream the butter, and add the sugar. Mix until fluffy.
2. Then, mix in 1/2 of an egg.
3. Divide the mixture in two, and add 80g flour to one half, and 75g flour + 5g cocoa powder to the other half.
4. Knead the separate doughs until combined.
5. Use the large black cutter to cut out the body from the chocolate dough, the white, round cutter to cut out the face and stomach from the plain dough, and the small black cutter to cut out the facial features from the face piece.
6. Assemble the panda's pieces and bake for 10 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.

Review

I like the cookie cutter concept and the cookies are supah cute, but the recipe is awful. The doughs were super dry and crumbly, and they were too soft, bland and gross. They weren't sweet enough, and the chocolate dough tasted nothing like chocolate. So, if you get this, make sure to use a different sugar cookie and chocolate sugar cookie recipe. I give this 2/5 stars because the pandas are still pretty cute.
